An Angel makes a wish
Successful, beautiful and every man's dream girl, this is Angel Locsin. A picture of a perfect girl, what else can she ask for? iGMA.tv finds out from this birthday girl what her heart truly desires. Celebrating her 22nd birthday on April 23, Angel Locsin can say that life has been good to her. Despite some bumps in the road, she managed to make the most out of her life. Starting her career as a teen star and gradually working her way up until GMA recognized her potential and gave her a break.
Now a certified star, she has a number of successful projects to her name on TV and on the big screen. There's no doubt she has come along way in the business. How will she mark the start of this new chapter in her life?
A different celebration
Last year Angel spent her birthday at a charitable institution for kids. This year she is passing up a birthday party again to celebrate her special day with an organization for women.
"Ayaw ko nang mag-party, kasi hindi talaga ako nagpa-party simula bata. Pagtinatanong ako ng tatay ko `party or pera?' ang sabi ko `pera!' (laughs) So ngayong tumatanda ako ayaw ko na. Mas gusto ko `yung katulad ng last year. May plinaplano naman kami para sa kababaihan, bilang isang babae, gusto kong tulungan yung kapwa ko babae, siyempre. At saka karamihan kasing sumusuporta sa akin puro bata so gusto ko munang unahin yung kabataan at tsaka yung
kababaihan," declares Angel.
Probably preferring to spend a day without the cameras and away from show business, Angel chooses to do something meaningful for her birthday - help the less fortunate and be an inspiration to other women. Now that's really an angel!
She can't think of anything in particular when we asked her what she wants for her birthday. After all, she probably has everything that a girl could ever wish for -- a beautiful new house, cars, a flourishing career, and a loving family. And although she has no boyfriend at the moment, there are suitors and friends who are loyal to her.
In gratitude
"Hindi ko pa alam eh, pero sana kung ano yung nangyayari ngayon magpatuloy lang, `yung mga blessings na binibigay sa akin, `yung mga sumusuporta sa akin. Sana hindi ko sila ma-disappoint. And sana suportahan nila itong Angels."
Her newest film, Angels, is a trilogy, which stars Marvin Agustin, Jennylyn Mercado, and Patrick Garcia among others. This movie also marks Angel's first venture behind the cameras.
"Kasi ito yung unang lakas ng loob kong mag-produce, para `yung mga kapwa kong artista ma-realize nila na marami silang magagawa dito sa pinasok nilang trabaho, at alam naman naming lahat na hindi kami forever dito."
Spoken like a true pro, this girl has come along way from her days at Click. She is aware of how things turn out in show business and as early as now she wants to take advantage of her status to prepare for her future. Thus, it is no surprise that she is reaping the rewards of her hard work. What ever this girl wants for her birthday we are sure she will definitely get it because heaven knows, she truly deserves it! Happy birthday Angel!
