“Why not? I’m supposed to be part of the Cosmo Bash, but due to a prior commitment, hindi ako nakapunta. Pero noong malaman ko nga that she will be going to the event, parang sinasabi ko sa sarili ko, sana, I was at the event.

“So, kung sakali man na magkakaroon ng ramp for Hanford, of course, I want her to be there,” nakangiting sabi ni Geoff na hindi man aminin ay mukhang in-love na talaga kay Carla.

‘Yung pagpo-pose niya na naka-trunks for Hanford, ibig bang sabihin, ready na talaga siya to go sexier?

“Yeah, like I’ve said, I’ve always been open to that naman. No qualms about sexy roles. As long as the character and the storylines call for it, hindi siya problema. At saka, siyempre, kung meron man na against it na gawin ko 'yun, magsasalita sila at pag-uusapan 'yun.”

Hanggang saan ba ang puwede niyang ipakita?

“Wow! I never thought about that pa. Pero, depende talaga. Depende sa script that calls for it.”

Kung si Geoff, tipong wala nga siyang inhibitions sa katawan, ang nanay raw niyang si Gina Alajar ang mas nasa-shock pa sa kanya.

“Pero ako, I’m always comfortable with my own skin naman. So, I’m not afraid with what people will say about me. So, okey lang. Open ako sa criticisms and all that.”

Open din daw siya sa idea na gumawa pa ng mas daring roles.

“Of course! Hindi naman na ako bumabata, tumatanda rin ako. And it’s part of the career. You have to make some move to make your career flourish. At saka, hindi rin madaling mag-diet, mag-gym. So, pinaghirapan na, ipakita na, 'di ba? Ha! Ha! Ha!” natatawang sabi na lang ni Geoff.

Ang Pagbabalik ni Darna sa GMA Telebabad!

Mars Ravelo's original Filipino Comics character is set to conquer every Filipino home with her breathtaking stunts and heart-wrenching stories night after night.

Para bigyang buhay ang isa sa mga tanyag na Pinoy Icons, GMA-7 taps its Queen of Prime Time, Marian Rivera, who is undeniably one of the hottest and most sought-after actresses in the entertainment industry. In the series, she will also portray Darna's alter-ego—Narda, a crippled young woman who will be torn between her love and destiny.

Joining Marian in the series is a powerhouse ensemble lead by Eddie Garcia, Celia Rodriguez and Caridad Sanchez. Also joining them are Robert "Buboy" Villar and Mark Anthony Fernandez.

Nadine Samonte expresses her disappointment over her "one-of-those" role in Darna

Hindi naitago ni Nadine Samonte ang pagkadismaya niya sa latest assignment na ibinigay sa kanya ng GMA-7. Isang kontrabida role ito bilang Babaeng Impakta, isa sa mga makakalaban ni Marian Rivera, sa bagong telefantasya ng Kapuso Network na Darna.

"Kung iisipin, okey na rin lang, kasi may trabaho ako," sabi ni Nadine in a phone interview. "Pero to be honest about it, hindi ito ang trabahong gusto ko. Kasi kung iisipin, nakapagbida na ako ng ilang ulit, e. I don't mind playing kontrabida roles, pero sa nangyayari, nagiging one of those lang ako.

"Bakit ganoon? Samantalang may mga bago diyan, ngayon lang sumulpot, biglang bida agad! Hindi sa nai-insecure ako, pero you can't help but ask, di ba? Ano ba ang nagawa kong mali para lumabas na napapag-iwanan ako?" hinaing ng StarStruck alumna.

Ito ang dahilan kung bakit pagkatapos ng cast presentation sa press launch ng Darna na ginanap noong Lunes ng gabi, August 3, sa Studio 5 ng GMA Network Center, nagmadaling umalis si Nadine at hindi na nakipag-usap sa entertainment press.

Paliwanag niya, "Ayoko naman kasing mag-nega nang husto, lalo kung napakaraming press ang magtatanong sa akin. Kilala ako ng mga kaibigan kong reporters. Kapag nagsalita ako, dere-deretso rin kasi. Ayoko lang kasing magpaka-hypocrite."

Nabanggit namin kay Nadine na sa nakaraang SRO Presents Cinemaserye Presents Suspetsa ay bida rin naman ang role na naibigay sa kanya.

"But, it wasn't a regular thing," sambit ni Nadine. "Kasi, parang guesting lang yun. Nakapagbida na nga ako sa afternoon soaps, pero bakit nga hindi nagtuloy-tuloy? Sa halip na umusad, parang umaatras akong pabalik.

"Hindi mo naman ako masisisi, kasi iniisip ko, 21 years old na ako. Matagal-tagal din akong naghintay. Tatanda na lang ba akong ganito? Iniisip ko na rin kung ano ang mangyayari sa future ko. Maraming bagong pumapasok, mas bata, saan pa ako lalagay?"

Gumagawa naman daw ng paraan para gandahan ang exposure niya sa Darna. Hindi naman daw siya all-out kontrabida rito.

"As Babaeng Impakta, may kakambal akong masama rito, si Impy," banggit ni Nadine. "Mapapansin ninyo, sa second or third week ng series, nakatutok din sa akin ang istorya. Kasi, alam naman nila ang reklamo ko. Naghahanap na lang silang remedyo para hindi ako masyadong malungkot."

MIGRATING TO GERMANY. Ito rin ang dahilan kung bakit kinu-consider na talaga ni Nadine ang pagma-migrate sa Germany. Nadine has a German father, at ang gusto ng grandparents niya roon, kupkupin na siya at doon na magpatuloy ng kanyang buhay.

"Nag-iisip kasi ako sa future ko, ako pa naman ang breadwinner ng family namin," sabi niya. "Mga two or three weeks akong mawawala sa October, para makapaghanap din ng paraan o dahilan kung bakit pupuwede akong manirahan sa Germany.

"Kung ganyan nang ganyan kasi ang mangyayari, ngayon pa lang, dapat na mag-isip na ako. Pero sa totoo lang, hindi na fulfilling ang mga ginagawa ko."

DARNA. Ano ang target pilot episode rating nila for Darna?

"Wala kaming tina-target na rating. Nasa trade party ba kayo ng GMA? Nakita n'yo sana na pagpasok ni Marian [Rivera] may excitement na agad sa advertisers, iba siya kumilos. For me, she's the prettiest Darna, mukha siyang manika," wika ni Ms. Wilma.

KOREANOVELAS. Kinumusta rin ng PEP ang Stairway To Heaven ni Dingdong Dantes at Full House ni Richard Gutierrez. Kailan talaga ang airing ng mga Pinoy version ng Koreanovelas na mga ito?

"September ang Stairway, pero wala pang partner si Dingdong. Gusto nga raw ni Marian, pero may Darna na siya. Nag-uusap-usap pa rin kami," sabi ng GMA-7 lady executive.
Magpapa-search ba sila ng aktres na makakapareha ni Dingdong?

"Hindi pa namin alam. We're looking for an actress that will fit the role of Jodi. Very fragile at kailangang sympathetic ang face dahil nagkasakit siya."

Patuloy ni Ms. Wilma, "Pasok din this year ang Full House, baka November, pang-last quarter programming. Meron nang napiling partner for Richard, pero hindi pa natin sasabihin."

Nang banggitin ng kolumnista na si Mario Bautista na bagay kay Marian ang role ng leading lady sa Full House, ang Darna pa rin ang inirason ni Ms. Wilma kung bakit hindi puwede ang aktres.

Pero may gagawin daw sitcom si Marian with Manny Pacquiao.



"Oo, Show Me the Manny ang title," banggit ni Ms. Wilma. "This year din ito gagawin. Iba naman ang sitcom. Kaya ni Marian yun, once a week lang ang taping at enjoy lang."
