The boys danced to the tune of Black Eyed Peas' "Boom, Boom, Boom" while the ladies gyrated to a samba medley. They later shared the stage for a fusion of the old and new dance moves.

This segment features the ensemble of GMA-7's top-caliber comediennes (Tess Bomb, Ruby Rodriguez, Dang Cruz, Mosang, Alyssa Alano, and Manilyn Reynes) with the Kapuso child stars (like Buboy Villar, BJ Forbes, and the StarStruck Kids), and the comic duo of Yaya (Michael V.) and Angelina (Ogie Alcasid).
With Moymoy Palaboy's lip-synching video as background, the following male Kapuso comedians also took center stage: Ariel & Maverick, Benjie Paras, Gene Padilla, John "Sweet" Lapus, Arnell Ignacio, Diego Llorica, John Feir, Bearwin Meily, Keempee de Leon, Boy2 Quizon, Mang Enriquez, Epi Quizon, and Leo Martinez.
SOUL. Dingdong Dantes was greeted by wild shrieks from his fans as he introduced the next segment focusing on the Kapuso network's principle of enriching the lives of Filipinos through superior delivery of news and entertainment.
With Gian Magdangal bringing so much life while performing "Bring Me To Life," the following Kapuso winged gods and goddesses strutted the catwalk: Bubbles Paraiso, Victor Aliwalas, Bianca Manalo, Luis Alandy, Charisse Solomon, Dex Quindoza, Sheena Halili, Matteo Guidicelli, Jan Manual, Rich Asuncion, Pamela Bianca Manalo, Kevin Santos, Marie Ann Manalo, Mike Tan, Daiana Menezes, Boom Labrusca, Krissa Mae Arietta, Dion Ignacio, and Marian Rivera.
POWER. This segment, as introduced by German Moreno, centers on the GMA's resident athletes and sports enthusiasts who stand for the element of power that radiates truth and beauty in the modern times.
Janno Gibbs provided the music while the some Kapuso stars performed tai-chi and capoiera with dancers and athletes. These stars were Chynna Ortaleza, Pauleen Luna, Vaness del Moral, LJ Reyes, Ryza Cenon, the SexBomb Dancers, and Rhian Ramos.
Senator Bong Revilla almost went unnoticed as he appeared on the stage before the end of the production number.
We were expecting boxing great Manny Pacquiao and basketball heartthrob Chris Tiu, hosts of Pinoy Record, to appear on this segment but they were both nowhere to be found.
SOUND. The next segment, as introduced by Ogie Alcasid, encapsulates the Kapuso network's true formula of trendsetting and producing cutting-edge programs to all Filipinos. Performing the Oscar-winning song "Jai Ho" were the Kitty Girls and Rochelle Panigilinan; while the following sexy Kapuso stars made their move on the catwalk: Arci Muñoz, Iwa Moto, Arthur Solinap, Glaiza de Castro, Jace Flore, Francine Prieto, Paulo Avelino, Bianca King, John Lopez, Akihiro Sato, and Dingdong Dantes.
NUMBERS. Michael V. provided the intro for this segment, where the element of numbers gave the chronological narration of GMA-7's 59 resplendent years in the broadcast industry, as represented by bridal fashion featuring the top Kapuso loveteams.
With the beautiful harmony of La Diva (Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, and Maricris Garcia) singing Filipino love songs, the following Kapuso pairs took centerstage: Marvin Agustin and Pauleen Luna representing the '20s, Dennis Trillo and Jennica Garcia representing '40s, JC de Vera and Michelle Madrigal representing the '60s, Mark Herras and Jackie Rice representing the '70s, Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal representing the '80s, Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana representing the '90s, and Marian Rivera and Mark Anthony Fernandez representing the 2000s.
REACH. Respected broadcaster Mel Tiangco provided the intro for the last segment, the element of reach which marks GMA-7's growth and development as it connects to Filipinos across the globe through its international channels: GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV.
Leading the finale is none other than Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez as she sang a medley of inspirational songs, while models wearing Filipiniana costumes designed by three Filipino designers walked on the ramp followed by all the Kapuso stars.
After this, Senator Bong Revilla provided the farewell message as all the GMA-7 executives, led by CEO and Chairman Atty. Felipe Gozon, joined the roster of Kapuso stars on the stage.
MISSING IN ACTION. Noticeably absent at last night's grandiose event Robin Padilla, Richard Gutierrez, Heart Evangelista, Jolina Magdangal, Joey de Leon, Vic Sotto and girlfriend Pia Guanio, Carmina Villarroel, Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, Nadine Samonte, Katrina Halili, Alfred Vargas, Paolo Bediones, Allan K, Jaya, Eugene Domingo, Jan Nieto, and most of the stars of the late Douglas Quijano, like Richard Gomez and wife Lucy Torres, Joey Marquez, brothers Anjo and Jomari Yllana, and sisters Janice and Gelli de Belen.
It was understandable that most of the talents of Tito Dougs skipped the GMA anniversary presentation since it was the last night of the talent manager's wake at the Heritage Memorial Chapels; although some of his other talents, like Wendell Ramos and Ryan Yllana, still showed up at the Big Dome.
Richard Gutierrez, one of the biggest stars of the Kapuso network, was also spotted at Tito Doug's wake, along with parents Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama and sister Ruffa. Unknown to many, Richard was co-managed by the late talent manager, who was cremated today.
Paolo Bediones is reportedly in Australia for the taping of Survivor Philippines Season 2, while Yasmien Kurdi and Nadine Samonte are in Dubai for a show.
SOME SIDELIGHTS. While waiting for his cue for the next segment, Ogie Alcasid provided probably one of the most entertaining moments of the program. Standing on the side of the stage for more than 10 minutes, Ogie entertained the audience and himself by singing a line or two of different songs while cracking jokes left and right. Too bad that this part won't be aired on TV.
Based on the applause and cheers last night, there is no doubt that Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are still the most popular Kapuso stars. Coming in second is the pair of Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal, who will soon be seen in the primetime series All My Life.
Meanwhile, Geoff Eigenmann and Carla Abellana looked so good together. But their appearance on stage did not elicit the same response as Dingdong and Marian or even Aljur and Kris, probably because the viewers have yet to see their chemistry on screen. But if everything works on their side, then their tandem will also become one of the most popular in no time.
Dingdong and Marian never appeared on stage together as they now have different projects; Darna for Marian and Stairway To Heaven for Dingdong. But during the finale, one of the country's most popular loveteams came out together.
One Glamorous Night: Greater and Grateful at 59 will be aired on June 28 on SNBO.

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Aniya, "Kasi it's a game show, di ba? E, ngayon, sabi ko, ‘Hindi ako papayag.' Kasi, unang-una, ako yung manager, ako yung nakipag-usap sa show, di ba?
"At the same time, as a manager niya [Sunshine], di ba, usually we get 30 percent.
"Pero ang usapan namin ever since, we will get 30 percent from the prize. E, so from then on, kinompyut ko sa kanya [Sunshine], ‘O, kita mo, heto ang matitira sa 'yo.
"Ang ikinagagalit ko sa kanya is, ‘I'm your manager, bakit binypass mo ako?'
Iwa Moto is now friends with Rochelle Pangilinan
Tuesday, May 01, 2007

Sebastian, ay naging boyfriend din for a time ni Iwa.
"We're close, we're friends talaga," sabi ni Iwa. "Oo, nagtatawagan
kami, nagte-text-an, ganun. Rochelle and I are friends. And besides,
wala namang hard feelings between us, kasi tapos na, e."
Dagdag pa niya, "Kung nagkaroon man ng isyu before, it's over.
"Lovelife? Sad na sad! Wala po, by choice," natatawang sabi ni Iwa.
"Siyempre, madaming work, di ba? Tsaka yung lovelife, dadating at dadating `yan. Nakakapaghintay, kung makakapaghintay. Kung mayroon mang may gusto, mag- antay na lang till the time na kailangan ng right time. Lahat naman ng bagay, may right time, di ba?" pahayag niya.
SexBomb Aira back from Japan
Tuesday, April 24, 2007
