Twelve hours before American Idol crowned David Cook as its seventh-season winner, Pinoy Idol formally introduced to the entertainment press its Top 24—12 men and 12 women—last night, May 21, at Teatrino in Promenade, Greenhills. These 24 Idol hopefuls bested more than 20,000 others who auditioned all over the country.

The Top 24 singers were personally handpicked by Pinol Idol judges Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal, and Wyngard Tracy. And based on what the entertainment press saw and heard last night—all of the 24 Idol hopefuls performed for the first time before a live audience—most agree that the judges did a very good job in choosing who will compete to become the first Pinoy Idol.

This group has very diverse musical talents—from ballad to pop to R&B to rock to jazz to blues to standards—that will make the show exciting. Ten of them are professional singers while the remaining contestants are raw and undiscovered. The age of the contestants range from 16 to 28.

The workshop phase of Pinoy Idol will begin Friday night, May 23, with the Top 12 men performing first. The following night, May 24, the Top 12 women will take the center stage. Then, on Sunday (May 25), the first elimination will take place

Pinoy Idol is hosted by Raymond Gutierrez.

Aside from the performance nights and elimination night, Pinoy Idol viewers will also be able to take a glimpse of the drama behind the competition via a special show called Pinoy Idol Extra starting May 25. Hosted by Karylle and Rhian Ramos, the show will offer the viewers behind the scenes footage and highlights of the contenders throughout the competition. Pinoy Idol will be shown every Sunday right after SOP and weekdays after The Legend.

sabik na ring malaman kung ano ang ia-announce ni Ogie.

Sabi ni Regine, wala siyang maikukuwento sa mga manunulat kung ano ang ia-announce ni Ogie sa June, dahil siya man daw ay nangangapa pa rin hanggang ngayon. Wala raw talaga siyang ideya kung ano ito.

Ayaw na ring magsalita ni Regine tungkol sa tunay na relasyon nila
ni Ogie ngayon. Bahala na lang daw na si Ogie ang magsalita tungkol dito.

"Si Ogie na lang ang kulitin niyo," sabi pa ni Regine.

Well, kapansin-pansin na nagagawa na ni Regine na idaan sa biro ang tungkol sa tsismis sa kanila ni Ogie. Hindi na nga siya tulad noon na iwas na iwas sa isyu sa kanila ni Ogie.

Aminado si Regine ngayon, masaya siya sa buhay niya, at in love

Nilinaw ni Regine na bago pa niya tinanggap ang pelikula, alam na niya na maraming ganu`ng eksena sila ni Piolo.

Sabi nga ng isang malapit kay Regine, walang dapat ikaselos si Ogie kay Piolo.

Hindi na kayang takpan ng make-up ang malaking tattoo ni Dennis Trillo, (wolf na may kagat-kagat na fish) sa kanyang balikat hanggang braso kaya nagtitiis siya kahit masakit na ipabura ito ng paunti-unti. Nagrereklamo rin ang mga bading dahil hindi ginamit sa cover ng kanyang album yung sexy photo niyang naka-off shirt at may hawak na gitara. "High school pa itong tattoo ko, pero kasi hindi na bagay sa image ko kaya kahit medyo masakit, tiis lang. Yung sexy photo sa loob lang ng album namin inilagay kasi may mga bagets na rin akong mga fans sa Super Twins," sabi nito. At sa mga ladies na nag-aasam kay Dennis hanap niya sa isang babae yung simple at nakakaintindi ng kanyang trabaho. Higit sa lahat, dapat masarap magluto at type niyang siya ang inaalagaan ng girl. "Gusto ko lang yung tipong maasikaso at sensitive sa needs ko," sabi ni Dennis. Pero ang first love niya talaga ay music kung saan high school palang ay tumutugtog na siya ng drums at ngayon ay may sarili na siyang album. Sumasabay ang anak ko sa mga kanta ni Dennis. Ganito rin ang effect sa mga fans ni Dennis sa dalawang malls na kinantahan niya. Ipinagmamalaki ng actor-singer kung paano nakapasa sa panlasa ng mahigpit na pagbabantay ng bawat kanta ng isang Regine Velasquez at positive pa si Ogie na maghi-hit ang kanta niya, may katwiran si Dennis na hindi siya mapapahiya sa kanyang album. Samantala, bayad na ni Dennis ang condo unit na tinitirhan niya ngayon at nasa last year of payment na rin siya ng kanyang Ford car. Co-produced ng dalawang film companies ang Valentine’s Day movie, kung saan bida sina Richard Gutierrez (as Daniel) at Angel Locsin (bilang Andrea) sa direksyon ni Mike Tuviera.

Sa kanya nalamang mas based sa librong Wuthering Heights ang The Promise kesa Hihintayin Kita sa Langit.

Tinanong si Raquel kung na-capture nina Richard at Angel ang character at passion ng character sa Wuthering Heights?

Hindi pa masabi ni Annette ang budget ng movie, pero kailangan daw ’di ito lumampas sa P30 million. Kasama sa nasabing halaga ang talent fee nina Angel at Richard at production cost.

The best ang kinuha nilang technical people, gaya ni Marissa Floreindo, cinematographer.

After bagging the "StarStruck Batch 2 Ultimate Female Survivor" title, Ryza Cenon has since been busy juggling her showbiz commitments, dealing with intrigues left and right and catching up with her private time when the spotlights are out.
